The Journey to Leadership.....

By now you must have heard the news relating to the presidential race. Senator Barrack H.Obama is the new President-elect of the United States. From the North to the South, crowds lined the streets in many states to celebrate his victory.

As usual, the streets of New York were filled with merriment. New Yorkers came by the thousands to witness history in the making. Time Square was packed with men, women and children shouting OBAMA repetitiously. The only thing missing were the funny glasses bought from the street vendor marking the celebration of a New Year.

Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina and Chicago were jumping with energy. Tears were flowing from the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Jesse Jackson and college students. What could bring about such emotion? Some say our new president-elect is the face reflecting change in America. His family will be the first of its kind to grace the halls of the White House. There have been no small children in the White House since the Kennedy family. Among the 43 pictures of past presidents which hang in the White House, Senator Obama's will be the first to showcase a man of color. He is a youthful, multicultural, charismatic, prophetic individual that is poised for change.

As he spoke to the crowd in Grant Park, Obama appeared elated and ever so grateful to his family, campaign staff and the 100,000+ supporters that stood for hours awaiting his arrival. It is truly a new day and as he begins the journey to the highest call of leadership, may we offer to him our full support as citizens of this great nation.

Thank you.

Rock Your Vote!

Tuesday, November 4th marks a very important day in our political history. What makes today so important?

It is the first time in history where there has been an African-American candidate on the ticket. Democrat Barack Obama could very likely become the next President of the United States of America. Republican John McCain could be the oldest president elected to a first term. This is a pivotal moment for both candidates.

These two gentlemen are not the only individuals racing to be "First" at the finish line. Sarah Palin, the running mate for John McCain, would be the first woman to be elected vice president of the United States. Senator Hilary Clinton, although no longer in the race for president, should be recognized for increasing the level of awareness among women voters during this election season. Senator Hilary Clinton fought long and hard in this electoral race.

If there are any doubters out there who do not believe in the power of one vote, they should take a look at the lines that are stretching for miles across America. No matter North, South, East or West, people are out there in record numbers. States are reporting up to 80-90% voter turn out for this presidential race.

Since 6AM this morning, voters began to make their way towards the polls. There is a fire that is brewing in our nation today. People are excited, encouraged and hopeful about the wave of change that is taking place right before our very eyes. Some may feel their vote does not count towards true change in the world. All it takes is one. One vote to set the new pace for how we rebuild our nation.

All of the candidates have proven the the American dream is still alive and well. Opportunities in this country exist for people of all ages, nationalities, gender, religious affiliations and social status. So get up and go out there to make your voice heard.

Rock your vote!
